On October 6, 8, 9 and October 12-14, the LCDFI joined the La Union Multi Partite Monitoring Team (MPMT) on Commercial and Industrial Sand and Gravel. The LCDFI is an NGO representative to the Monitoring Team. Fifty four (54) quarry areas in La Union were monitored with members from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (PENRO) and the La Union Environment and Natural Resources Unit (ENRU) under the office of the Governor. Final evaluation will be on November 3, 2020 at the Provincial Capital with companies applying for permits. Compliance to Environmental protocols on quarrying is strictly monitored. Monitoring is done on a quarterly basis. Mr. Gil Garcia attended the monitoring visits in behalf of the LCDFI.
