The Lorma Community Development Foundation, Inc. (LCDFI) was honored with the acceptance of Mary Jane C. Ortega of the Chairmanship of the Foundation. The event took place last October 7 on the occasion of its Annual General membership Meeting. Ms. Ortega was the Mayor of San Fernando City, La Union from 1998-2007. Multi-awarded Ms. Mary Jane C. Ortega, head and officer of many international and national organizations was congratulated by her predecessor, Engr. Cresencio J. Fernandez, well-known business man and civic leader who served the Foundation for 24 fruitful years. Given the title of Chairman Emeritus, Engr. Fernandez remains a part of the LCDFI.
Chairman Ortega will be supported by the Board of Trustees, Officers and Members from different sectors of the community. The group is bound by one purpose, to provide fundamental and technical assistance to grow One Million Cacao Trees and 1 Million Cashew Trees in La Union to aid in the progress of farmers.
